Trailblazer is an app for expats to share the insights about their place of residence.

When moving to a new, foreign city, it takes time to find your way around. What are the good and bad places, what is safe and what not, local laws and regulations, finding houses and jobs, how not to get robbed, the meaning of visual and body language, the national holidays, customs, traditions and a million more of those mundane, everyday things.

It is a learning curve everyone needs to go through. The longer you stay, the more experienced you become. However, when you move away again, you take those insights with you. The scenario repeats itself: someone who just arrived has to go through that learning curve all over. However, they could have benefitted from the insights of the people who have already gained experience.

Trailblazer aims to support the learning curve of expats by providing a platform for experience sharing. Users can submit experiences and others can up-vote (“Yes, I recognize that. My friend had her bag stolen, you should look out for motorcycle thieves”) or down-vote (“No, I do not think that taxi company is bad, I had a great experience.”) the entry. Over the time, the most valuable and widely recognized insights will float to the top of the list and the more trivial ones will end up lower.
